Percent for Art Open House Showcases the Safe Haven Healing Arts Collection

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper welcomed members of the arts and health communities as they came together at the Safe Haven Health and Wellness Complex, Thursday, December 10, 2020. The event — the Percent for Art Open House — was an art opening for 31 Healing Arts collections Dự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm nayprocured through a Call to Artists earlier this year, as well as donations from local philanthropists.

“With the addition of this healing artwork, we move closer to the opening of the Safe Haven Health and Wellness Center. This collection is vital to the facility, as we want each and every person who joins us to begin their healing journey to do so with dignity and a sense of hope,” Cooper said. “In addition to adding a healing component to the Safe Haven Health and Wellness Center, this Call to Artists offered an opportunity to our arts community to find work during this uncertain time and to add to the success of Safe Haven.”

Over 40 artists with over 280 proposals responded to the Call to Artists in the summer of 2020Dự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm nay, issued by the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs and St. Tammany Parish Government. A five-member Art Advisory Panel selected the final collections for installation. Two additional pieces were donated by Carlos Sanchez and David Fennelly. Special thanks to the Advisory Panel members: Cindy Pulling, Administrative Director for NAMI St. Tammany; James Davis, St. Tammany Parish Councilman District 7; Laura Prisco, Chairwoman, St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs; Jennifer Bushnell, Commissioner, St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs; and Mary D. Burckell, Director of Safe Haven.

The artwork was funded through the Percent for Art Program at a cost of $24,400. This program stems from an ordinance passed in 2002 which authorizes the allocation of funds for art in the construction of public buildings. For this project selections were made specifically to enhance the healing environment of the facility. All artwork was installed in adherence to required guidelines for a Behavioral Health facility. Future projects slated for completion at the Safe Haven Health and Wellness Complex include: bedroom murals, an outdoor sculpture, exam room murals, and landscaping. See descriptions of each . St. Tammany Parish Department of Public Works will continue picking up green, vegetative, storm-related debris in unincorporated areas of St. Tammany. Monday November 2, 2020. Citizens are asked to please place un-bagged, green, vegetative, storm-related debris by the roadside in the right-of-way for pick up — separate from regular garbage and recycling — by the Public Works Department. Public Works will not go onto private property so debris must be in the right-of-way. Green, vegetative debris mixed with construction and demolition debris will not be picked up.

These citizens may go to any fire station in Madisonville, Mandeville, Slidell, Covington, Abita Springs, Folsom, and Bush to Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This service will be unavailable after 4 p.m. A map of Oxygen Refilling Stations is located  on harlownorth.com/storm .

Due to the loss in power caused by Hurricane Zeta on October 28, 2020, both the Briarwood Terrace Water System and Meadow Lake Water System experienced low water pressure.  Out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with the Louisiana Department of Health regulations, a precautionary boil advisory is in place for all Tammany Utilities customers in these systems.
This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by Tammany Utilities.  It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:
Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container.  The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.  (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)
Again, please be sure to disinfect your own water prior to consumption until you have been advised otherwise.
 
Tammany Utilities will rescind this Boil Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health ‑ Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from our water supply system have shown our water to be safe.

• All Emergency Operations liaisons are currently on stand-by. The St. Tammany Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is prepared to physically activate the Emergency Operations Center.

• Public Works personnel are pre-positioning high water signs in low-lying areas in the event tidal, wind and/or rain conditions make it necessary to close or post roads, in addition, crews are clearing debris from drainage ditches and lowering the levels of retention and detention ponds. Tammany Utilities is ensuring all equipment is operational and back-up systems are in place.

• The St. Tammany Parish Department of Public Works will open six self-serve sandbag locations Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 7:30 a.m. All locations (with the exception of the Old Levee District Site) will have personnel on-hand to assist the elderly or infirmed. All will remain open until 6 p.m.

St. Tammany Parish Government Introduces Proposed 2021 Operating and Capital Budgets

Dự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm nayOn Thursday, October 1, 2020, the St. Tammany Parish Council introduced two ordinances for adoption of the proposed 2021 Parish Operating Budget, and the proposed 2021 Parish Capital Improvement Budget. President Cooper has outlined in his budget several key initiatives including: the streamlining of public services to increase efficiency, save money, and better serve St. Tammany citizens; the restoration of trust between Parish Government and citizens through increased transparency and access to public officials; the update of the current comprehensive plan — last updated in 1999; and the creation of partnerships with local and State leaders on issues that impact all citizens, including infrastructure and economic development.

The 2021 Budget, was prepared by St. Tammany Parish Chief Financial Officer, Leslie Long and staff under the direction of St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper. According to the October 1, 2020 St. Tammany Parish Council agenda, the Parish Council will hold a public hearing in Council Chambers at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2020 to review the proposed Operating and Capital Improvement Budgets prior to adoption. St. Tammany Parish Government Monitors Tropical Depression Beta — Activates Sandbag Locations

Dự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm naySt. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper and the St. Tammany Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) are closely monitoring Tropical Depression Beta, expected to move over Louisiana later this week. St. Tammany Parish is currently under a Coastal Flood Warning. According to forecasters, Tropical Depression Beta is slow-moving and the prolonged persistent onshore flow of tidal water will continue to produce above normal tides and coastal flooding.

“As we continue to see the onshore tidal flow, we ask citizens who live in low-lying areas to stay tuned to the weather forecast and to prepare for a prolonged event with periods of rainfall. We ask all citizens to please adhere to roadway signage and to refrain from unnecessarily driving through neighborhoods with water in the streets to prevent the movement of this water into homes,” Cooper said. “We are prepared and we ask residents in these impacted areas to stay vigilant. We ask everyone to drive with consideration for others in these impacted areas.”

Self-serve sandbag locations will open today, Tuesday, September 22, 2020 until 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2020 and Thursday, September 24, 2020, as required. All locations will have sand and bags provided. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels in case all shovels provided are in use. In addition, residents are asked to limit the number of sandbags to 15 per vehicle. There will be someone on-hand to assist the elderly and/or disabled at each location during the hours of 7 a.m. – 3: 30 p.m.  at the following locations:

Additional pens are currently under construction to provide added exercise resources.  The shelter has purchased toys for the kittens, added scratching posts to the adoption room, and purchased feral cat dens for the isolation room. 

Future initiatives set to launch include:  broadening the volunteer base; expanding the foundation of credible, compassionate rescue programs already in place; purchasing new beds for all shelter animals; educating and more greatly utilizing fosters; and the acquisition of new caging for the isolation room to increase prevention of the transfer of disease.

As part of the continued partnership with Mardi Paws, the Let the Fur Fly fundraising initiative was recently announced and is underway. This effort is a partnership with Wings of Rescue and sponsors, and thus far has secured $25,000 in funding for a late - September flight for the St. Tammany Parish Department of Animal Services, and other high-intake shelters in neighboring parishes out of Top Gun Aviation at the Hammond Regional Airport. Their goal is to fund a second flight during the month of October, as well as secure funding for the purchase of much-needed items for the shelter. St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper continues to urge residents to prepare for Hurricane Sally today, before the storm makes landfall.

Updates: September 14, 2020

• St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper has communicated with officials at the State level in advance of Hurricane Sally’s expected landfall.
• The St. Tammany Emergency Operations Center is partially activated.
• All non-essential Parish Government offices will close at noon on Monday, September 14, 2020 and remain closed, Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Essential employees are to report as assigned.
• The Towers Building in Slidell will close at noon today.
• The St. Tammany Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness has met with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and Fire Districts who are on stand-by and ready to respond.
• There will be no garbage pickup or recycling in St. Tammany, Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Citizens are asked to not put any garbage on the curb until the storm has passed.

• St. Tammany Parish engineers are closely monitoring river gauges.
• The Department of Inspections and Enforcement has asked contractors with active job sites to ensure their job sites are contained.
• The Department of Public Works distributed a total of 24, 650 sandbags through self-service and assisted distribution on Sunday, September 13, 2020.
• St. Tammany Parish Government has opened six self-service sandbag locations, today, Monday, September 14, 2020. All locations will have sand and bags provided. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels in case all shovels provided are in use. In addition, residents are asked to limit the number of sandbags to 15 per vehicle. There will be someone on-hand to assist the elderly and/or disabled at each location.  The locations will be open until 6 p.m. today or until weather no longer permits. St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper Free of COVID-19 Test Shows

Dự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm naySt. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper received negative results today, from his conventional COVID-19 test administered earlier this week, clearing him of a COVID-19 diagnosis. He plans to return to work in his office at Koop Drive next week.

I am feeling much better and I am certainly looking forward to resuming my work routine and public activities,” Cooper said. “I feel strongly that quarantining — and following St. Tammany Parish Government COVID-19 protocol —was the responsible thing to do, and I appreciate the assistance of my staff while I worked from home during this period.”

Cooper self-quarantined — out of an abundance of caution — while he awaited medical clearance, after experiencing mild flu-like symptoms and a fever last weekend. He followed St. Tammany Parish Government COVID-19 protocols, as well as the advice of medical professionals.

St. Tammany Demonstrates Innovative Floodgate Design – First of its Kind in the State in a Residential Area

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper announced today, the completion of the installation of a FloodBreak Automatic Floodgate Mitigation System — in the Fox Hollow subdivision in the Slidell area. This gate is the first of its kind in the State of Louisiana installed in a residential neighborhood. With the installation of this gate, the gap in the levee system will now be closed during a flood event. This system requires no man power to operate, and is automatically activated by flood waters which cause the gate to rise and protect the area where the gate is installed. As the flood waters recede, the gate recedes as well. No man power is required to operate the system. When not activated, the gate lies underground, flush with the roadway, and residents simply drive over it. It is touted as a “passive, automatic flood barrier system that provides permanent and virtually invisible flood protection without human intervention or power.”

“This completion of this project will give the residents of Fox Hollow additional flood protection with the most innovative technology available, as well as additional peace of mind,” said Mike Cooper, St. Tammany Parish President. “We appreciate the help of all who advocated for this project — Councilman T.J. Smith and members of Drainage District #4. The protection of life and property during a weather event is our goal with every flood mitigation measure we put into place.”

Warner Trucking is the contractor for this project, and Mike Riviere of Infinity Engineering is the engineer.  The cost of the project is $369,797.00.

St. Tammany Parish Officials continue to monitor Hurricane Laura and the potential impacts on St. Tammany Parish. Hurricane Laura is currently forecast by the to reach the northwestern Gulf Coast at or near major hurricane intensity Wednesday night, August 26, 2020. Potential impacts to St. Tammany Parish forecast by the National Weather Service include: possible heavy rain from 1-4 inches; storm surge of up to 2-4 feet. St. Tammany Parish Government announced the following Emergency Operations updates at a news briefing earlier today.

-St. Tammany Parish Government is partially activated at the St. Tammany Emergency Operations Center. They will remain activated throughout the duration of this storm. Members of the Critical Response Team will activate beginning at 7 a.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2020.

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper Declares State of Emergency in Advance of Tropical Storms Marco and Laura

Dự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm naySt. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper has declared a State of Emergency in advance of Tropical Strom Marco and Tropical Storm Laura. He asks residents to prepare for these storms. Marco is forecast by the National Weather Service to impact St. Tammany late Monday. Laura is forecast to impact St. Tammany later this week.

“We will first feel the effects of Marco, and then later in the week, possibly Laura. We ask all residents to be prepared for a heavy rain event and storm surge, check on elderly family and neighbors, and have enough supplies to shelter in place for the duration of the storm,” said Mike Cooper, St. Tammany Parish President. “We are prepared, and we want our residents to be prepared as well.”

He made several announcements during a media briefing earlier today, Sunday, August 23, 2020.

-Non-essential Parish Government Offices will close Monday, August 24, 2020 essential personnel is expected to report as assigned. The Department of Animal Services will be closed to the public.

St. Tammany Parish Government in Preparedness Posture

St. Tammany Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) is closely monitoring two storm systems. Tropical Storm Laura and Tropical Depression 14. Both systems are expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico by early next week. There still exists some uncertainty as far as the path of these systems. The St. Tammany Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is receiving continual updates from the National Weather Service and is monitoring the tracks of these systems. St. Tammany Parish has implemented its storm protocols and has placed Emergency Operations Liaisons on stand-by for possible activation.

St. Tammany Parish Government Partners with Business Community and Elected Officials in Mask Ask Campaign

 St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper has enlisted the help of local mayors, leaders in the business community, and local businesses to help him continue to spread the word and provide educational information about the importance of wearing a mask to minimize the spread of COVID-19. In what Cooper calls his Mask Ask campaign, he has partnered with the St. Tammany Corporation and the St. Tammany Chamber to produce a limited number of signs made for local business to display in their businesses. The signs are tools to increase educational awareness on why the Centers for Disease Control recommends masking to slow the spread of COVID-19. The signs are free for pick up to any business wishing to participate. They encourage citizens to take personal responsibility, and to do their parts with catchy phrases like “It’s not much to ask — wear a mask.” Rip Stoltz, President/Owner of SEI-Specialty Enhanced Imaging in Slidell, generously donated production costs as part of the Public awareness effort.

In addition, Cooper has produced television PSAs enlisting and throughout St. Tammany, asking citizens to Slow the Pace — Cover Your Face, as well as PSAs for local radio.

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper announced that St. Tammany Parish will see forward movement on several significant projects as 2020-2021 Capital Outlay Funding requests were approved by the State Legislature and signed by the Governor at the close of the 2020 First Extraordinary Legislative Session.

Capital Outlay funding requires a minimum 25 % local funding match.  Among the projects funded in the 2020-2021 year are: the South Slidell Levee Protection Project, the Training and Education Center on the Safe Haven Campus, and Phase II of the St. Tammany Fishing Pier.

The South Slidell Levee Protection Project will see $750,000 in Capital Outlay Funding. This multi-segment levee project is part of Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan. It was developed by St. Tammany Parish Government and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a levee plan concept to protect south Slidell east of Norfolk Southern railroad on both sides of I-10 by blocking a tidal surge produced in a 100-year storm event. The project includes five existing levees — four of which will require raising to match proposed elevations for the entire system, three already completed segments, and the proposed construction of 16 additional segments. The anticipated use of the 2020-2021 funding will include pre-design work as well as environmental permitting and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers clearance for levee work for segments 6, which would stretch between the already completed ring levees around Lakeshore Estates and the Kingspoint subdivision, and segments 7,12, and 13 which would stretch from the existing Kingspoint ring levee to U.S. 190. The Safe Haven initiative will see multiple campus improvements move forward through $850,000 in funding. A portion of this total — approximately $500,000 —will fund the construction of the 4,000 square-foot Training and Education Center. This facility will be the first new construction on the campus since 1970 — formerly Southeast Hospital — and will provide resources for a variety of programs centered on behavioral health. It will provide a space to train various community members on how to identify and respond to these community needs. This project has been designed and is expected to go out for bid in the fall of 2020. Construction is expected to be completed by late 2021. Additional projects slated for the campus include rehabilitation and renovation of existing buildings for expansion of behavioral health services.

This estimated total cost of project is $1.3 million, a portion of which will be funded through a grant from the Wallop Breaux Public Access and Boating Facility through Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries in the amount of $992,0458.50.  This project includes developing the old twin spans section of the Pier, currently closed to public use; shelter structures, cleaning stations and fishing platforms, as well as the installation of guardrails, a catwalk, and exterior lighting. This 120-day project is expected to go out for bid in the fall of this year.

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper Announces Plans for Mask Mandate

Dự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm naySt. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper announced today that based upon recommendations from St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Charles Preston, as well as additional advisement from local physicians and healthcare professionals, he was preparing an Executive Order regarding masks for release Monday, July 13, 2020. As such, he will move forward with such an order on the heels of Governor John Bel Edwards announcement of additional restrictions to his Phase 2 Executive Order.

“My priority remains on focusing on the health and welfare of our citizenry while maintaining the viability of our economy. I have been urging residents to exercise personal responsibility and wear masks since early April, and I agree with the assertions of medical experts that face coverings may slow the spread of the coronavirus,” Cooper said. “With the help and cooperation of the eight mayors in St. Tammany Parish, we continue to drive home this message with the release of our public service announcement asking citizens to ‘Slow the Pace —Cover you Face.’ We will continue to do so as we know the simple act of covering your face may help protect others from our germs.”

Cooper will move forward with the planned Executive Order next week, and continues to ask all residents to do everything they can to stop the spread of COVID-19 including physically distancing, avoiding large crowds, washing hands frequently, and covering your face when in public around others.

Longtime Educator and Public Servant Richard Tanner Dies

Tanner started his career in Public Service in 1965 as an Agriculture teacher at Covington High School. From teaching he rose in the ranks of education to an administrative level, eventually serving as Interim Superintendent of St. Tammany Parish Public Schools.  His career with St. Tammany parish Public Schools spanned nearly 40 years. Tanner served on the original St. Tammany Parish Council formed in 1979, and served for four years. He returned to the St. Tammany Parish Council in January of 2012 where he served until his death. 

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper offered this reflection on Mr. Tanner’s lifelong commitment to service to the people of St. Tammany.

“On behalf of the entire Parish Council, I can say sincerely that Richard Tanner will be dearly missed. He truly loved St. Tammany, and was instrumental in shaping the way our community evolved over the years, while staying true to the distinct needs of St. Tammany, and the citizens in his district,” said Mike Lorino, St. Tammany Parish Council Chairman. “He served in many roles over his lifetime and because he did, he had a positive and lasting influence on many lives. Our condolences are with his family at this difficult time.”

In addition to his roles in education and as an elected official, Mr. Tanner also coached little league baseball, was active in 4-H and Future Farmers of America, and served at one time, as President of the St. Tammany Parish Fair Association.

St. Tammany Parish Animal Shelter Rehomes Over 50 Pups Through Wings of Rescue Partnership

Earlier this week, 49 pups from the St. Tammany Parish Department of Animal Services were rehomed along with pups from other Parishes around the region, through a Wings of Rescue transport flight. The pups were flown to the Brandywine Valley SPCA in New Castle, Delaware, where they will be adopted into forever homes. This is the second Wings of Rescue transport flight of 2020 with our Department of Animals Services, as Wings of Rescue transported five pups on a separate flight from the St. Tammany Parish Animal Shelter last month.

Wings of Rescue, a 501(c)3 charity founded in 2012, has flown 99 transport flights to transport animals from high-intake shelters. The St. Tammany Parish Department of Animal Services takes in every animal brought in whether owner-surrendered, stray, or picked up by an Animal Control Officers on staff.  In 2019 alone, the St. Tammany Parish Animal Shelter took in over 4,000 animals. The June 2020 transports included pups from neighboring parishes as well.

“These partnerships with credible, compassionate rescue groups are among the many ways our dedicated Animal Services staff works every day to give these animals loving care, and a loving home,” said St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper. “Their hard work and outreach efforts have seen nearly over 300 animals transported or pulled for adoption through these group partnerships in the first six months of 2020 alone.”

In the first six months of 2020, in addition to the 357 animals rehomed through rescue group partnerships, 368 animals have been adopted directly from the Animal Shelter.  All animals who leave the shelter for adoption have a complete checkup, are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. The Department of Animal Services is open by appointment for anyone wishing to adopt and animal, or foster an animal to adoption. $2.2 Million Bridge Replacement Project in the Slidell Area Begins in Early July

Dự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm naySt. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper, announced the upcoming start of a $2.2 million infrastructure enhancement project in the Slidell area beginning July 6, 2020, barring any unforeseen delays.

Dự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm nay“This investment in our infrastructure will improve travel for motorists at all levels, improve drainage, and upgrade two bridges to the most current standards with increased life-span in mind,” said Cooper. “This money was allocated for multi-faceted projects like this with layers of sustainable upgrades incorporated for the long-term.”

The project, part of a $30 million Bond Package announced in March of 2019, will include the replacement of two bridges on the I-10 Service Road in the Slidell area south of Lake Village Boulevard, drainage improvements, and the mill and overlay of the entire roadway. The roadway will be closed before each bridge from just south of Sign Lite to just north of Louisiana Log Homes to all motor vehicle traffic for the expected duration of the 224 – day project.

Motorists are asked to plan to use North Pearl Drive and Lake Village Boulevard as alternate routes until the project is complete in early 2021.  McDonald Construction of Slidell is the contractor for this project.

The National Hurricane Center has issued Tropical Storm Warnings for Southeastern Louisiana. Forecasters are predicting weather conditions deteriorating beginning late Saturday evening into Sunday, June 7, 2020 as Cristobal approaches the Louisiana coastline and the continued deterioration of conditions including heavy rain and high winds as the storm moves inland Sunday evening.

Parish Government is following its emergency preparedness protocols. The Emergency Operations Center will partially activate the evening of Saturday, June 6, 2020 with additional emergency operations liaisons operating virtually to maintain social distancing. Public Works and Tammany Utilities personnel are on call, if needed, out of an abundance of caution. Parish Government remains prepared in the event conditions worsen. Parish Government will also be pre-positioning high water signs in low-lying areas in the event tidal, wind and/or rain conditions make it necessary to close or post signs on roads.

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper Declares State of Emergency in Advance of Tropical Storm Cristobal

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper has declared a State of Emergency in advance of the anticipated landfall of Tropical Storm Cristobal. This declaration is a procedural process that enables Parish Government to better coordinate any and all local, state or federal resources necessary to support public safety.

St. Tammany Parish Government Begins Phase Two Reopening 

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper signed an Executive Order today, to reopen St. Tammany Parish and St. Tammany Parish Government beginning June 5, 2020 as Phase 2 openings begins across the State of Louisiana.

“Phase 2 means we are making positive progress.  I am looking forward to seeing our businesses gain more capacity for revenue and seeing businesses who have not yet had a chance to reopen, do so safely,” Cooper said. “This next phase of recovery is a hopeful sign. I want to again thank our St. Tammany Economic Recovery and Resiliency Council for their continued outstanding and tireless work throughout this crisis.”

Under Phase 2 guidelines, St. Tammany Parish Government offices will be open to the public by appointment only. Members of the public who wish to enter Parish Government buildings will be required to adhere to the same screening requirements as Parish Government employees. These include:  completing an entrance questionnaire and having their temperature taken with a touchless thermometer. They will also be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing while in the buildings. The Kids Konnection Playground will remain closed.

Other changes of note in Phase 2 include: Bars and Breweries without an LDH food permit may operate with strict requirements at 25 % capacity, all businesses open in Phase I may continue operations with existing protocols at 50% capacity; close contact businesses like massage, spa, esthetician, and tattoo establishments may open with strict guidance from their State governing boards. Recreational sporting leagues and non-contact sporting events at public ball fields, gyms, parks and facilities may open under strict guidelines.

St. Tammany Parish Government Opens Self-Service Sandbag Locations in Advance of Tropical Storm Cristobal

St. Tammany Parish Government announces the opening of six self-service sandbag locations. All locations will have sand and bags provided. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels in case all shovels provided are in use. In addition, residents are asked to limit the number of sandbags to 15 per vehicle. The locations will be open from dawn to dusk.

St. Tammany Parish Implements Storm in the Gulf Protocols

Tropical Storm Cristobal is now located in the extreme Southern Gulf of Mexico. There still exists some uncertainty as far as the path of this system. The St. Tammany Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is receiving continual updates from the National Weather Service and is monitoring the track of this system. St. Tammany Parish has implemented its Storm in the GulfDự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm nay protocols. 

Based upon the forecast track, emergency preparedness plans will be announced to the public as they happen through the local media, through STPG-TV — Channel 710 on Charter, Channel 99, AT&T U-VERSE, or livestream at harlownorth.com/; the local media, our website -harlownorth.com/departments/hsep, and through social media on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and, if necessary, through ALERT St. Tammany. We are asking all residents to prepare for the possibility of a localized rain event, assure that all family members are accounted for and have a safe place to shelter from any potential foul weather. We ask that you clear storm drains, follow your family plan for a storm event, and pay close attention to weather forecasts and Parish officials as the storm moves into the Gulf of Mexico. Louisiana Department of Health Opens COVID-19 Mobile Testing Sites in St. Tammany Parish

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper announces the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) has opened mobile COVID-19 testing site locations in St. Tammany. The sites will open in St. Tammany for four consecutive weeks, at various locations. 

“The LDH is working in coordination with our Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness to stand up these locations, and offer this testing to citizens 18 years of age and older,” Cooper said. “I urge residents to utilize these sites. The more information we have about the status of our community, the more we are able to plan for our recovery.”

Dự đoán kết quả xổ số hôm nayThe testing sites will be open from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. each day they are open. To be tested, residents must be 18 years or over and have a valid Louisiana ID. Each site has a limited number of kits. The site will use a self-administered nasal swab test that will allow those being tested to swab their own nose onsite while in their vehicles, observed by a trained medical volunteer to ensure the sample is taken correctly, and drop the sealed sample into a container on their way out of the drive-thru site.  Those being tested will need to wear a mask and stay in their cars for verification of eligibility criteria, ID check and self-administered test. Walk-up testing is not preferred due to safety concerns.
